Yamaha has launched the FZ-X in India priced at Rs. 1.16 Lakh (without Y-connect) and 1,19,800 (with Y-connect), the bikes are available in 3 different colours; Matte Copper, Matte Black and Metallic Blue. Yamaha, as we all know is a brand that power packs the bike with their refined engineering and the sporty avatar that’s experienced on the saddle. But it seems they’ve decided to step into a whole new generation by launching their crossover motorcycle that is inspired by Neo-Retro design and futuristic features; the all new FZ-X.
The all new neo retro design has been added with toughness which reminds us of the RE’s and the Jawa’s. The all new circular bi-functional LED headlight comes with DRL’s that enhance the overall look of the bike whereas the LED tail light is sleek and lights up in an oval-shaped ring making the machine look more futuristic and classy. The 41mm telescopic suspension at the front comes with fork boots which not only protects the fork by the debris but also adds to the neo retro design pattern of the bike. The 10L fuel tank has been nicely amalgamated into the overall design of the bike that enhances the riding position and has been added with metal fuel tank cover giving it a neo classic look.
The design stands as a competition for the recently launched Honda H’ness making it a stylish crossover motorcycle in its segment.
The two level seat gives the correct rider triangle for long distance touring, thanks to the wider tuck and roll seat that is designed to be slip-resistant. Also, the 7 step adjustable mono-suspension promises a smooth ride when you decide to be off tarmac. The neo-retro avatar is equipped with block pattern tyre that provides a superior handling and makes the bike suitable for all types of terrains. Adding to the superior handling is the Bosch single-channel ABS and Front disc-brake with 2-pot Caliper for pinpoint braking with superior stability.
The all new Yamaha FZ-X comes equipped with a sleek and stylish instrument cluster that is a mix of both traditional and modern design. The promise of ‘futuristic features’ also adds the ‘Yamaha motorcycle connect’ to the bike where you can make your smartphone communicate with your bike ensuring that the rider doesn’t miss any smartphone notifications that are displayed on the instrument cluster.
The bike is also equipped with side stand engine immobiliser that cuts off the engine when the side stand is down; adding to more safety for the rider.
The all new Yamaha FZ-X comes powered with a 149cc; 4-stroke air-cooled engine that is SOHC 2 valve fuel injected which is very well known as “Blue Core” that is in a league of its own. It’s a BSVI ready engine with a manual 5-speed transmission and a electric starter.
