Yamaha hands over a cheque of Rs 25 lakhs to the District Collector, Kancheepuram in its fight against COVID 19
Senior Management members from Yamaha Motor India Group (YMIG) and representatives from the company’s internal employees union today handed over a cheque of Rs. 25 lakhs to Mr. Thiru P Ponniah, District Collector & Magistrate, Kancheepuram, Tamilnadu to support the government in its efforts to control the spread of Covid-19 in the state. Present on the occasion were, Mr. Yukihiko Tada, Managing Director, Mr. Takahiro Henmi, Executive Vice-President (Human Resources), Mr. P S Ganeshan, Vice President (Human Resources) from Yamaha along with Mr. Velmurugan, Operational President from India Yamaha Motor Thozhilalar Sangam, the company’s internal employees union.
The Company had earlier announced on May 9th that its permanent employees which includes both the white collar and blue collar employees as well as some trainees based at the three plant locations (Kanchipuram, Surajpur, & Faridabad), Corporate Office in Chennai and Area Offices across India donated a total of Rs. 61.5 lakh to support the government in fighting this pandemic. Out of the total donation of Rs. 61.5 lakh, Rs. 25 lakh has been donated towards the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund (Government of Tamil Nadu) today while a cheque of Rs. 25 lakhs will be handed over to the District Collector, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh for donation towards the Chief Minister Distress Relief Fund (Government of Uttar Pradesh). The remaining Rs. 11.5 lakh has already been donated to the PM Cares Fund.
