TVS Motors has launched the Apache RTR 200 V4 with ABS today at Rs 1.07 Lakh. The first in segment dual chanell ABS version will be only available in the carburetor variant of the premium motorcycle.
As per TVS this is the new generation Dual-Channel ABS unit on the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V that has been developed through extreme and extensive research on the race track. Assuring superior confidence in late braking and optimal cornering control, it is well-tuned for both high friction and low friction surfaces thus ensuring a precise and sharp feedback to the rider. The Dual-Channel ABS comes with a unique feature of Rear Wheel Lift-off Protection (RLP) control which offers quick detection and recovery of the wheel-lock and achieves higher dynamic stability through precise close-loop slip control.
Cosmetic changes differentiating the ABS version from the non ABS version is the unique ABS sticker on the front mudguard.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 V4 ABS comes powered by a 197cc single cylinder engine with a peak power of 20.5 PS @ 8500 rpm and a torque of 18.1 Nm @ 7000 rpm mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Apache 200 is capable of doing a top speed of 127 kmph and an 0-60 kmph figure in just 3.95 seconds.
In India, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V competes with the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 and the Yamaha FZ25 while its upcoming rival is the Hero Xtreme 200R that was showcased just a few days back.
