Triumph Motorcycles have launched the Bonneville Speedmaster in India today and priced it at Rs. 11,11,555/- ex showrooms Pan India. Based on the Bobber the Bonneville Speedmaster is Triumphs first Classic Cruiser.
With the Speedmaster the Bonneville series now goes has 4 models to its lineup. The Speedmaster is on the classic Triumphs of the 50s and the 60s with classic fusion styling mated to new age Morden technology. The Speedmaster comes powered by the same 1200cc parallel twin engine thats seen on the Bonneville lineup, this engine makes 76 bhp of power and has 106 Nm of maximum torque.
The Triumph Speedmaster rides on 150/80 spec rear tyres and 130/90 spec front tyres. The motorcycle gets twin disc Brembo brakes and high a specification suspension. Triumph is also offering its state of the art ride-by-wire that includes Road and Rain modes. Speedmaster also gets the ‘Maverick’ kit ‘Highway’ kit for cruising.
Though the Triumph Speedmaster is based on the Bobber it comes with a proper full seat for the rider and the pillion whereas the Bobber just comes with a solo riders seat. The rider footpegs on the Speedmaster are placed at a forward position to enhance the laid-back, relaxed cruiser riding position.
On the Speedmasters feature list anti-lock brakes (ABS), switchable traction control, ride-by-wire with two riding modes, as well as standard cruise control come as standard. The Speedmaster comes with a 12-litre fuel tank while the Bobber has a 9.1-litre fuel tank.
