Toyota has unveiled the Rumion MPV today. The pricing and the booking dates would be announced later. The Rumion MPV is based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and becomes the third rebadged model that Toyota has launched after the Glanza and the Urban Cruiser. With the wait period for the Suzuki Ertiga shot up largely the Toyota Rumion would be a good option for the buyers to jump the queue as it is more or less the same product with minor changes. Noteworthy here is that Toyota has been exporting the Maruti Suzuki manufactured Rumion to South Africa since some time now. The Toyota Rumion is available in six variants: S MT/AT, G MT, and V MT/AT, S MT CNG trims.
In terms of looks the Toyota Rumion looks identical to the Ertiga with some key Toyota touches which include the signature Toyota family grille with mesh pattern, redesigned front bumper with chrome, new design dualtone alloy wheels. The MPV comes with projector headlamps and LED tail lamps.
In terms of interiors the 7-Seater Rumion gets dualtone cabin theme with climate control, 2nd row roof mounted AC and flexible seats. The steering comes with MFD controls. The MPV also gets the 7-inch Smartplay touch screen AVN system and 55 plus Toyota I-Connect features, 360 degree camera. The sound system is the Arkamys Surround Sense system. In terms of safety the Toyota Rumion comes with Airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, ESP and Hill Hold features.
Powering the Toyota Rumion is the same Suzuki Ertiga derived engine which is a 1.5L K-Series 4-cylinder Petrol Engine with ISG mild hybrid system. This engine makes 102bhp and 136.8Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic option. You also get the Rumion with the Ertiga derived CNG option that promises 26.11km/kg of mileage.
Toyota Rumion comes with a standard warranty of 3 years/1,00,000 km, which can be extended to 5 years/2,20,000 km.
