First real glimpse of the soon to be launched l #toyotahyryder SUV that will rival the likes of the #hyundaicreta #kiaseltos. Jointly developed by Toyota & Maruti Suzuki the Hyryder will be unveiled on the 1st of July and will go into production later. D22 as it’s code named the Toyota Hyryder would also have a version manufactured as the #Vitara for Maruti Suzuki later. This becomes a very important model from both the Japanese brands as it is their very first model that goes heads-up against the Korean best sellers along with the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Harrier and the Mahindra XUV 7OO.
In the teaser that is out of the Toyota Hyryder you can see a dual layered LED daytime running lamps thats nicely flushed with the piano-finished black grille along with a chrome separator that runs across the grille dividing the LED daytime running lamps into two layers. Also seen is the bold “Hybrid” badge placed on the fender just under the wing mirror. The Hyryder will also come with a floating roof and blackened A-pillars. The video also shows a 360-degree camera on its feature list. Also seen in the video is the rear styling of the Toyota Hyryder which comes with unique design C-shaped LED tail-lamps that extend on tailgate along with dual C-Shaped LED parking lamps. Also visible is an prominent chrome strip that is positioned at the centre of the tail gate mating with the tail-lamps.
Powering both the SUVs will be the 1.5-litre K15C Dualjet naturally aspirated petrol engine options- one in a mild-hybrid state and the other in a strong-hybrid nature. Mild Hybrid is stated to make 103 bhp and 137 Nm of peak torque while the strong hybrid will hit out around 115 bhp. Transmission options would include a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox on the mild-hybrid unit. The strong-hybrid unit will come with an e-CVT gearbox. The Toyota Hyryder is also expected to come with a AWD version on its line up.
Toyota will manufacture the Hyryder at its Bidadi plant in Karnataka We expect the SUV’s to be priced in the ₹11 lakh to ₹16 Lakh price range depending on the trims and variants. Watch this space for more as we get you all the updates on the Toyota HyRyder as it unfolds on the 1st of July
