Tata Nexon SUV rolls off production line in Ranjangaon, Pune
Tata Motors flagged-off the first batch of its upcoming SUV, the Tata Nexon from its Ranjangaon manufacturing facility. The Nexon is the Company’s fourth car in the new generation of passenger vehicles under the IMPACT design philosophy. Tata Motors is all set for an official launch of its much awaited SUV, the Nexon in India. The car has rolled off the production line at the Ranjangaon facility where it will be manufactured. The company will also be soon dispatching the cars to the dealerships across the country in a phased manner, so that customers can get up close and personal with this all new SUV. It is set to launch at the start of this festive season.
The Tata Nexon will be offered with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol motor and a 1.5-litre diesel motor. The Revotron petrol engine churns out 110 PS and 170 Nm, while the Revotorq diesel motor is tuned to develop 110 PS and a whopping 260 Nm. Both engines are mated to a brand new TA6300 manual gearbox with 6 forward gears and 1 reverse gear. Both engines are indigenously developed in India at the company’s R&D facility in Pune. The company has teamed up with global technology suppliers like AVL, Bosch, Mahale and Honeywell to offer the latest engine technology. The Revotron engine will be manufactured at the Sanand facility while the Revotorq engine will be produced at the Ranjangaon facility. The Tata Nexon will also be offered with segment first drive modes.
On the insides, the Tata Nexon will get a touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and mobile app support. There will be a multi function steering wheel and automatic climate control system also on offer. Top variant might receive leather upholstery. The compact SUV could be launched with 17-inch alloy wheels as well. Safety features will be standard across the range. Prices for the Tata Nexon are expected to be in the range of Rs. 6 lakhs to Rs. 9.50 lakhs.
