Tata Motors Christens Premium Hatch 45X Concept as Altroz, Launch in Mid 2019
Tata Motors have christened their upcoming premium hatchback concept the 45X as Altroz. The Tata Altroz is slated to launch in mid 2019. The Tata Altroz will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo in its premium hatchback segment.
Tata Motors is all set to unveil the final production version of the Altroz at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show which happens shortly. The concept version of the 45X was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo at Delhi along with the Harrier concept. The Tata Altroz will be entering the premium hatch segment which sells in the range of Rs. 5.50 Lakh to Rs. 9.50 Lakh.
Tata Altroz is built on new ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) Architecture. This new platform focuses on lightweight, modular and flexible characteristics. The Altroz is built on the IMPACT 2.0 design language. No technical details of the Altroz is known yet but we could see the 1.2 Liter petrol and 1.5 Liter diesel powering this car. The same engines also power the Nexon.
Announcing the name of this much-anticipated vehicle, Mr. Mayank Pareek – President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said – “We are extremely elated to announce the name of our upcoming model, which will redefine the premium hatchback segment for the industry. Resonating with the characteristics of the Albatross, the ALTROZ will shine above all its contemporaries with its Agility, Speed, and Efficiency along with best-in-class performance and in-cabin space.
