Skoda has today released official sketches for the interiors of their upcoming sedan the Slavia. Skoda will globally unveil the Slavia on the 18th of November. The Skoda Slavia will replace the Rapid sedan when it goes on sale soon.
From the officially released interior sketches of the Slavia that were shared to us we can see a premium interior layout with a multi-layer dashboard in place that reminds the on on the Kushaq SUV. The cabin of the Slavia will come with a floating style 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, two-spoke steering wheel, a centre armrest, and a manual hand brake. Now what makes the SLavia different from the Kushaq us the all digital instrument cluster, circular design AC vents, and also the Skoda branding on the instrument cluster’s housing.
Skoda had just last week released official design sketches of the exterior styling for the Slavia. The Skoda Slavia is built on the Made for India MQB A0 IN platform that it also shares with the Volkswagen models. In terms of dimensions the Slavia would be a lot bigger than the model it replaces the Rapid. In terms of exterior styling the Slavia will come with the signature Skoda butterfly-shaped grille, sloping roofline, window line finished in chrome, long nose line, LED head lamps and tail lamps and overall the sedan is expected to come with a lot more premium styling on it.
Powering the Skoda Slavia will be two petrol powertrains, these are the same engines as offered on the Kushaq. You have the option of the 1.0-litre TSI engine that makes 114bhp and 178Nm of torque. On the top of the line models you will have the option of the 1.5-litre TSI motor that hits out 148bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. Both the engines will be mated to 6-speed manual as well as automatic transmission options.
The Skoda Slavia sedan will compete in the mid-size sedan space and will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Honda City. As per our sources the bookings for Skoda Slavia will be opened by end of the year with deliveries starting during Q1 of 2022. Watch this space for more information on the Skoda Slavia very soon.
