Skoda Rapid Facelift Launched In India, Gets Striking New Front End
Skoda Rapid facelift gets an updated diesel motor that churns out even more power and a new Crystalline design that gives the car a fresh new look.
Skoda India today launched the Rapid facelift in India at a starting price of Rs. 8.34 lakhs ex-showroom Maharashtra, for the base petrol variant. The car has been launched in a total of 4 trim levels and 10 variants. The 1.6-litre petrol engine has been carried forward unchanged and comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine has been tuned to produce a bit more power and is now rated at 110 PS. The diesel too gets the option of a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
On the looks front, the car gets new Quartz-cut Projector Lens headlights with chrome detailing and LED DRLs. It borrows the family butterfly grille and comes with an all new bumper too. The sides and the rear design stays similar to the outgoing model but there is a new Silk Blue exterior paint shade on offer. On the insides the Skoda Rapid facelift gets a new ‘Drive’ central Infotainment System with 6.5 inch colour touchscreen and MirrorLink technology, while also supporting USB, Aux-in, Bluetooth and SD Card. The car has a boot capacity of 460 litres.
The car gets new features like automatic climate control, Rain Sensing Wipers, Electrically Foldable mirrors, cruise control, Parktonic Rear Parking Sensors, Automatically dimming rear view mirror and One Touch Anti Pinch windows. On the safety front, Skoda Rapid facelift gets 2 airbags and ABS as standard across all variants, while the diesel automatic variants also get Electronic Stability Control and Hill Hold Control.
