Range Rover Sport SVR – a 2 wheel drive in a different way!
Some people just do not get how to drive a car with four wheels. Even if it is a four wheel drive performance SUV. And a big and heavy SUV as it is, Range Rover Sport SVR is not exactly meant to be driven in only two wheels. But if the person behind the steering wheel is one crazy stunt driver like that of Terry Grant, anything is possible.
That was what witnessed at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed when the talented stunt driver wanted to save one set of precious rubber on the Range Rover Sport SVR and decided to massacre the other side, leaving a trail of white smoke along. He took the performance SUV which generates 550 HP of power for a quick two wheel drive up the hill on the track.
He was very careful not to waste much rubber when he took the performance SUV around the track on only two wheels for the most part before finally touching the ground on all four wheels. Terry Grant also managed to perform a couple of donuts to delight the attendees of the event by flooring the supercharged 5.0 liter V8 engine.
It’s not every day that you get to see an SUV ballet dancing on a track, let alone one that weighs a hefty 2,335 kilograms. Although Terry Grant didn’t do a full run of the famous Goodwood hill climb on two wheels, he did make up for that with the delicious donuts.
The Range Rover Sport SVR is about to receive a facelift next year and as if the monstrous 550 HP generated by the 5.0 liter V8 is not enough, Jaguar Land Rover is already testing the facelift with dialled up power at 575 HP. Outrageous!
The facelift is expected to carry a couple of subtle styling differences with a revised interior and updated version is likely due before the end of the year.
Meanwhile, you can watch the video of the stunt here:
