The Porsche Macan comes with an entry level turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, and will take on the likes of the recently launched Jaguar F-Pace.
The Porsche Macan was already on sale in India but came with only V6 petrol and diesel powerplants, and since it was a direct import costed a bomb to buy. Prices for these variants range between Rs. 1 crore to Rs. 1.13 crore making it way expensive to buy in the first place. But Porsche India has just launched an affordable Macan with a price tag of Rs. 76.84 lakhs ex-showroom, Maharashtra. This entry level variant is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol motor that develops 252 HP of max power and gives it a 0-100 kmph time of 6.5 seconds when equipped with the optional Sports Chrono Package. The engine is mated to a 7-speed PDK dual clutch gearbox.
The Porsche Macan gets the Porsche Traction Control active AWD system that consists of electronic and map controlled multi plate clutch, automatic brake differential and anti slip regulation. The Macan 2.0-litre gets the Porsche Active Suspension System (PASM) that regulates the damper force on the front and rear axle. The features list on this entry level variant is pretty long with features like 18-inch alloy wheels, 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, Alcantara trims on seat panels, powered tailgate and a lane departure warning system.
Some of the other features on the Macan 2.0-litre are black painted brake callipers and side window trim strips. The Jaguar F-Pace that was launched a few days ago is powered by a 4-cylinder diesel motor with prices staring in the range of Rs. 68 lakhs. It is this car that can give the Macan a run for its money. We would be soon driving this 2.0-litre Porsche Macan to bring you a detailed road test review. So stay tuned to MWI for further updates!
