Nissan India has showcased three new international models from its global lineup today at a special media event in New Delhi. The Japanese car maker revealed the Nissan Juke, Nissan Qashqai, and Nissan X-Trail.
The Japanese carmaker has confirmed that the XTrail SUV is currently being tested in India and will be the first to be launched here.
The XTrail makes a comeback to Nissans line up here in India after 8 Making its comeback in India after eight years.
In terms of styling then Nissan XTrail comes with a X-Trail gets the familiar family face with the huge V-motion front grille and the bumper-mounted LED headlamps. The daytime running lights are placed on the top.
The sides of the X-Trail come with meaty wheel arches and the rear profile comes with many character lines that define it’s style styling. The XTrail is available in 5 and 7 seater options. The X-Trail comes in petrol and hybrid engine options. The engine option is the 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes l 161bhp and 300Nm of peak torque and is claimed to have a top speed of 200kmph.
You also get the hybrid option on the XTrail that Nissan calls ‘e-Power’ which is a three-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor that is available in both front and all-wheel-drive configurations, the former develops 201bhp and 330Nm of maximum torque. Meanwhile, the all-wheel-drive version is tuned to make 210bhp and 525Nm of peak torque.
The Nissan XTrail goes up against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and the Mahindra Alturas G4 when launched sometime next year.
The Nissan Qashqai which was also showcased is available in four variants in the Japanese markets, Acenta Premium, N-Connecta, Tekna, Tekna+.
The Qashqai unveiled here is the 2WD e-POWER version which comes powered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor that together makes 188bhp and 250Nm of max torque. The e-motor produces a max torque of 330Nm. This vehicle gets an automatic transmission as standard and it is capable of sprinting from zero to 100kmph in 7.9 seconds. The Qashqai does a top speed of 170kmph.
In terms of dimensions, the Nissan Qashqai stands at 4,425mm in length, 1,835mm in width, and has a height of 1,625mm. The SUV’s wheelbase stands at 2,665mm.
The third SUV showcased by Nissan is the quirky cute looking Juke. Currently in its second-generation Nissan Juke comes powered by a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong hybrid system.
The Juke should go up against the likes of the Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara as for Hybrids and also against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and the Volkswagen Taigun if launched here in India.
