New Safari Variant Spotted Testing , What’s Hiding Under The Camo?
The 2021 Safari is arguably the biggest and most important launch for Tata Motors this year .With the SUV having to fill up shoes of the legend that the Safari was , the current sales and waiting periods suggest that the 2021 Safari has managed to do that with ease, though there is a fair bit of the hardcore fans who were left unimpressed because of the lack of an AWD or a 4×4 on offer . The brand went ahead with the introduction of the Adventure Persona variant to address that part of the crowd , visually but the cosmetic update still left a fair lot wanting more . In a surprising turn of events, the Safari has been spotted testing again giving hopes to many about what surprise it could pack .
If sources are to be believed the new variant will be a powered by a 1.6L Petrol Turbo heart putting out 160 BHP and 250 NM off torque. The chances of it to sport a AWD system are very slim but the new test mule and the fact that the upcoming Mahindra XUV 7OO is confirmed to offer AWD as an option , does shine a ray of hope in hearts of many .
With the indian car market getting one 7 seater after the other , the Safari goes against the MG Hector Plus and current Gen Mahindra Xuv 5OO and the recently unveiled Hyundai Alcazar .
The unit spotted testing was covered complete is camouflage livery indicating that the changes might be numerous . Currently the Safari is offered in 7 Trims and this would add to the list . We shall bring you more updates on this as details emerge .
