MG Opens for the 6-seater Hector Plus, launch scheduled soon
MG Motor has today opened bookings for the 6-seater version of the Hector the Hector Plus. The upcoming MPV from MG Motor can be booked at a booking amount of Rs.50,000. MG Motor had showcased the Hector Plus during the 2020 Auto Expo this year. The MPV is scheduled to launch later this month.
The MG Hector Plus will be powered by BS-6 Petrol, Petrol Hybrid and a Diesel engine that also power the regular Hector. the Petrol engine is the 1.5L Turbocharged Inter-cooled motor with 143PS of power and 250Nm of torque. The Petrol Hybrid gets the same 1.5L engine powering it with an extra added 48V Hybrid motor that enhances the power output. The Diesel variant comes powered with the 2.0L engine with 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque, this is the same engine that also powers the Jeep Compass and the Tata Harrier. Transmission option include 6-speed Manual for the Hybrid and Diesel while the Pure Petrol variant also gets a DCT automatic option.
In terms of design and styling the MG Hector Plus looks stylish like the regular Hector and comes with chrome grille, dual tone alloys, shark fin antenna, LED DRL with floating turn lights etc.
On the inside the Hector Plus claims to offer space and loads of comfort. The MPV gets Captain seats with slide and recline function along with individual armrests. The interiors gets brown leather upholstery. You also get the highly acclaimed 10.4 inch touch screen AVN unit placed in the center dash with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and powered by Infinity Audio System. This unit comes loaded with the latest version of the i-smart system that offer 55+ connected car features like M2M embedded sim, Over the Air updates, Gaaba premium account, Geofencing, find my car, voice assistant to name a few.
The MG Hector Plus will be offered with a six seat (2+2+2) configuration and will be available in three trim levels – Super, Smart and Sharp. The Super trim is the base model that comes with with only the diesel engine, the mid-spec Smart trim comes with both diesel or the petrol-auto options while the top-spec Sharp trim comes with three powertrain options. In all there are six versions on offer, three diesels, two petrol-autos and one petrol-hybrid. MG Motor also plans to will also launch a proper 7-seater version with a middle row bench type seat later in the year.
