The all new Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been launched in Hercules Maruti, Trivandrum and bookings for the gorgeous sedan are already open!
Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the latest swashbuckling compact sedan from the stable of India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki has been launched here in Trivandrum. The latest generation of the best-selling compact sedan has been unveiled in a ceremonious gathering at Hercules Maruti, one of the PLATINUM dealers of the automaker, by respected MLA Mr. K. Muraleedharan. Maruti’s Area Manager Mr. Arun Prasad, Hercules Maruti’s Executive Director Mr. Salim, CEO Mr. Arun Kumar were also present during the occasion.
Maruti Dzire is the next generation of India’s top selling compact sedan Swift Dzire. The car has been so successful that Maruti Suzuki has decided to drop the Swift moniker all together and has christened it only ‘Dzire’.
While the earlier generations of Swift Dzire were actually sedan versions of the popular Swift hatchback, this version of Dzire is completely new and a true blood sedan on its own right. No longer does it look like a Swift with a boot strapped on. Maruti has cleverly introduced several design elements like sloping roof, redesigned doors to add clean flow towards the sedan shape. The boot is also now very well integrated into the design giving the sedan a clean look.
Based on the new HEARTECT platform from Suzuki, the new Dzire is even lighter than before and even the fully loaded top spec Zdi+ version weighs less than a ton!
Features wise, the New Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been extremely generous and includes latest technologies such as a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Dual Airbags and ABS with EBD are standard across the entire model range. Also features like steering mounted controls and Automatic Climate Control keep the new Dzire right up there with respect to its competition.
The New Dzire is powered by the now very familiar set of engines from Maruti Suzuki- the 1.2 litre K-Series petrol and 1.3 litre MultiJet Diesel from Fiat. The 1.2 litre K-Series petrol produces 82 bhp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The Italian diesel meanwhile is good for 74 bhp and 190 Nm of pulling power. Maruti has consciously not launched the higher powered 90 bhp version of the MJD engine in the new Dzire to differentiate the bigger full size Sedan Ciaz.
The following are the variants available in the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire in petrol / diesel avatars.
• LXi / LDi
• VXi / VDi
• ZXi / ZDi
• ZXi+ / ZDi+
The new Dzire also packs in Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) sourced from Magneti Marelli right from VXi / VDi versions and thus ends up as the first compact sedan to have automatic options in both petrol and diesel versions.
The New Dzire range starts from INR 5.64 Lakhs ex-showroom and bookings for the sedan are already going very brisk.
