Volkswagen Taigun Video Review
In terms of exteriors the Taigun reminds you of the elder brother the Tiguan in terms of proper SUV styling and stance. The body panels come with lots of sharp lines and are flat giving it a good brute SUV look. The SUV also boasts a class leading wheelbase of 2651mm. In terms of looks upfront you get a wide latest design Volkswagen grille with chrome strips and the latest slim VW logo on it. The headlights are chunky in size and come with all LED glow and DRL’s in them. The dual tone front bumper gets a unique thick chrome insert band that runs around it kind of defining the face. The sides too get sharp character lines and a tinge of chrome on the door handles, the roof gets roof rails and a electric sun roof too. The rear gets unique and distinctive LED tail lamps that run across the boot lid just under the rear glass.
Coming to the interiors the VW Taigun comes with a typical premium Volkswagen family cabin styling finished in black. The dash is finished in dual tone color with metal inserts running on it. You get a 10 inch AVN touch screen system, digital instrument cluster (to end trim), three spoke flat bottom steering, single color ambient lighting, metal inserts on door pads. Seats come in dual tone fabric upholstery. Also on the feature list of the Taigun are wireless charging, cooled glovebox, electrically foldable and adjustable ORVMs, a six-speaker stereo system, an electric sunroof.
In terms of safety the Taigun comes with typical Volkswagen standards of safety which includes 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control, reverse parking sensors and camera, etc. Volkswagen is also offering their unique cashless service packages for the Taigun starting at Rs. 21,999 for the 1.0L, MT Rs. 23,999 for the 1.5L MT/AT and Rs. 27,999 for the 1.0AT.
The Volkswagen Taigun enters the fiercely competitive mid sized SUV segment where it goes up against its cousin the Skoda Kushaq, segment leader Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos and also against the likes of the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Nissan Kicks, Renaut Captur.
