Tata Tigor is the company’s third compact sedan after the Indigo CS and Zest, and is being marketed as India’s first Styleback.
Tata Motors has been on a transformation journey for the past couple of years. It started with the Tiago, followed by the Hexa and now the company has launched the all new Tigor. This is the third of the new generation cars from the company. The design of the car is its USP and the company has called it a Styleback due to its coupe like rear design. We feel this is the best looking sub 4-metre sedan on the market right now. You get features like projector headlamps, LED taillights and the wide LED high mount stop light that looks utterly delicious.
On the insides, the Tata Tigor gets features like a 8 speaker Harman Audio system with a 5-inch touchscreen display. The system supports a wide range of connectivity options and a app suite too. It does not support satellite navigation but with the help of your smartphone and the NaviMaps app, the infotainment screen turns into a GPS system on its own (Know how in our review right here). There is on offer automatic climate control and better fabrics for the seats. At the rear, there is a centre armrest with cupholders. The Tata Tigor also boasts of having the biggest boot space in its category at 419 litres.
The Tata Tigor is powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.05-litre diesel that powers the Tiago hatchback. It develops 85 PS and 70 PS respectively and come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The car delivers a fuel economy of 20.3 kmpl for the petrol and 24.4 kmpl for the diesel engine. The latest sub 4-metre sedan is available in a total of 8 variants namely XE, XT, XZ and XZ (O) respectively on both engine derivatives.
