LIVE – Renault KIGER Launched in India, prices start at Rs. 5.45 Lakh
Renault has launched the KIGER Compact SUV in India with prices starting at Rs.5.45 Lakh . The French carmaker had globally unveiled the Kiger just a few weeks back at a media event in New Delhi. The Renault Kiger will is available in four variants – RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ.

As per Renault India the Kiger is the most spacious car in its class. The sub 4 meter SUV gets 710mm couple distance between the seats, while the rear offers legroom of 222mm and elbow room of 1,431mm. Apart from this, the Kiger boasts best-in class cabin storage volume of 29.1-litre.
In terms of features the Kiger comes with a eight-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone replication. The infotainment system gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Also on the feature list are wireless charger, air purifier, Arkamys Auditorium 3D sound system that includes eight onboard speakers (four boomers, four tweeters). Renault claims that the system can automatically adjusts the volume according to the speed of the vehicle.
Powering the Renault Kiger is the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine makes 70bhp and 96Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. This engine comes mated to a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT option. The 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces 97bhp and 160Nm at 3,200rpm. The turbo engine comes mated to a five-speed manual and a five-speed CVT transmission option. You also get preset driving modes, such as – Normal mode, Eco mode, and Sports mode.
In terms of safety the Renault Kiger also gets up to four airbags – driver, passenger, and two side airbags in the top-spec variant. Apart from this, the standard safety feature list includes rear parking sensors, camera, ABS with EBD, speed alerts to name few.
The Renault Kiger is available in six colour options – ice cool white, planet grey, moonlight grey, mahogany brown, caspian blue, and radiant red with mystery black roof (available only in top-spec variant). All trims can also be got in dual-tone body colour options.
The Renault Kiger competes with the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport, and its cousin the Nissan Magnite.
