LIVE – MG Hector’s Connectivity Features Revealed at MG drive.in
MG Motor have revealed the Connected Technologies that their first car model the Hector would be coming with today at the MG Drive.In event in New Delhi. First things first, the MG Hector will go on sale in June this year with bookings opening in May.
The MG Hector will come loaded with new-age technologies loaded into it that a brief demo was given to us at the MG drive.in event. The MG Hector SUV will come with segment first 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that would be connected to the internet on the go. At the heart of this infotainment system would be the touchscreen unit that would be controlling everything via its OS. The iSmart Next Gen has been built in partnership with leading Global Technology companies, Cisco, Unlimit, Microsoft, Nuance, TomTom, Gaana, Accuweather, SAP, iTeligence, Adobe, Cognizant and Panasonic. MG Hector Internet car is a car that would understand and obey voice commands.
A car that will always stay connected to the internet. A car that can be controlled remotely via mobile App. A car that has safety and security features never imagined before, from passenger safety to emergency response to cyber security. The system has built in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities to learn and improve user experiences over time. The first car in India that would keep upgrading with OTA updates. It is not just a car, it is a whole new experience in Connected Mobility. For the connectivity the unit will use a Airtel eSIM which is 5G ready. Privacy and security is taken care by Microsoft while this system also comes with voice assist that listens and understands Indian English accents developed by Nuance.
The MG Hector will also get a E-Call feature that automatically calls the helpline emergency number in case of airbags being deployed. The GPS and Naigation service is taken care by TomTom while for audio streaming MG Motor have roped in Gaana app. Live weather updates can be got from this system via Accuweather.
Owners can download the iSmart app into their smartphones and keep a track of various parameters of the car including vehicle management, security alert, lock-unlock doors, remotely set the climate control, check tyre pressure, check fuel level etc.
