Mercedes Benz has launched the 2020 GLC Coupe at a glittering Media event here in Bangalore India with prices starting at INR 62.70 lakh.The iconic German carmaker had unveiled the GLC Coupe in March 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show. This is the very first time that India also gets the non AMG version of the Mercedes Benz GLC, previously only the AMG GLC 43 was on sale here for our markets since 2017. The new Mercedes-Benz GLC comes in two variants , namely , The GLC 300 4MATIC which is priced at INR 62.70 lakh and the GLC 300d 4MATIC which is priced at INR 63.70 lakh.
In terms of design and styling the 2020 Mercedes GLC burrows its styling cues from the GLC SUV that was launched in India in December 2019. The front of the GLC sports the signature diamond design grille flanked with all LED headlights and an all new restyled bumper.
The basic style silhouette is typical coupe like with sloping roofline that runs all across. The New Mercedes Coupe also sports new design alloy wheels that add tons of sportiness to its appeal. On the rear the Coupe comes with new redesigned all LED tail lights along with a new moulded diffuser and exhaust tips that blend into the bumpers.
In terms of cabin the GLC Coupe comes with loads of updates which include a new flat bottom steering wheel, 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system loaded with the latest generation MBUX Mercedes-Benz User Experience Infotainment system. The car also comes with some latest driver assistance systems which include exit warning function, emergency-corridor function, tail-end-of-traffic jam function, trailer maneuvering assist and the latest generation 360 degree camera.
The 2020 Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe is available in both Petrol and Diesel engine options, just like the GLC SUV. The engines on offer are the 2.0L units both of which are BS-6 complaint units. The 2.0L Petrol engine makes 258 bhp and generates 370Nm of peak torque. The 2.0L Diesel engine on the other hand produces 245 bhp and pushes out 500Nm of peak torque. The transmission options on both these engines includes the popular 9G-Tronic automatic unit along with Mercedes 4MATIC as standard.
The Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe competes with the likes of the BMW X4, Porsche Macan in its segment for now.
