Mercedes AMG E63 S

Indias Numero Uno Premium car maker Mercedes Benz has launched the Mercedes AMG E63 S 4MATIC in India with prices starting at Rs. 1.50 Crore. The Mercedes AMG E63 S was launched at the Buddh International Circuit a location best suited for the super fast AMG.

The AMG E63 S is the most powerful and capable E Class ever. Mercedes had announced this version of the E Class at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Mercedes-AMG E63 S looks very chic and classy on it exterior profile with smooth character lines same as the E-Class Sedan. The main changes include a new single slat grille, a new front bumper housing slightly larger air intakes and a sporty exhaust setup at the rear, also the wheel arches on the AMG version are wider as compared to the standard E Class and this version rides on matte-black AMG 20-inch alloy wheels.

Powering this beast is an beastly turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine under the hood that comes with twin-scroll technology that improves performance and reduces turbo lag. The AMG E63 S develops mighty 603 bhp and hits out 850 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to the latest generation nine-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission and also comes loaded with the Mercedes 4Matic all-wheel drive system. This powerful car can do a dash to 100 kmph is in just 3.3 seconds.

The. rather most unique feature on the Mercedes AMG E63 S is the new Drift Mode. The feature loaded AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system uses fully variable torque distribution at the front and rear axles and when you need to have a little fun, just select the ‘Race’ drive mode, switch off stability control, activate the transmission’s manual mode and the car is ready to drift away in style. In the Drift Mode the car drives entirely on the rear wheel till the mode is shut off.

Needless to say the Mercedes AMG E63 S comes loaded with all the safety features and AMG stuff on it.You also get the AMG Speedshift MCT system on its transmission, Air Body Control system, and the cylinder deactivation system to enhance the fuel efficiency to name a few innovative features.

Mr. Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “The Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ is the ultimate interpretation of a luxury performance saloon. We believe it is the world’s most intelligent executive saloon – in its sportiest form. To be precise, it is the most powerful E-Class in history. Never before has there been such an extensive and radical transformation from one model generation to the next. The new E 63 S personifies driving performance, whether one wants to dwell in the comfortable rear seats and head to work or take the front seat and boss this beast around, we are happy to offer our patrons the best of both worlds. My personal favourite feature of this super saloon is the ‘drift mode’, which comes as standard. Wondering how a 4MATIC will drift? Well, thanks to the fully variable torque distribution. With this new generation of the E 63 S, our renowned AMG engineers have left no stone unturned in satisfying the needs of those ardent petrol heads/performance enthusiasts. Our AMG strategy in India has been very well received by our discerning customers. From the track to the tarmac, to tricky terrains, we broke lap records, introduced never seen before variants and drove past our competitors in some style! We offer to our AMG customers, a large variety of cars to choose from. We offer at least one model each from the ‘43’, ‘45’ ’63’ and GT model range in India. We believe a key factor to grab the attention of Young Indians is not only for a Mercedes- Benz but also for an AMG. The average AMG customer age in India is 30 years, which is a notable 7 years lesser than that of an average Mercedes-Benz buyer. We will be launching many more AMGs and dream cars through the year, so do stay tuned to Mercedes-Benz.”

We would be driving the Mercedes AMG E63 S on the race track in the next few minutes, watch out for our detailed track report.
