Hyundai has globally unveiled the All New Aura sedan today at a media preview held in Chennai. The Hyundai Aura is the latest compact sedan from the Korean car maker which will replace the Xcent in the segment.

The Hyundai Aura is based on the Grand i10 NIOS just as they Xcent was based on the Grand i10. The Hyundai Aura measures 3995mm in length, 1680mm in width and 1520mm in height. The Aura has an overall wheelbase of 2450mm.

In terms of exteriors the Hyundai Aura has a bold styling with the large Hyundai family face flanked with projector type flush headlights and twin boomerang daytime running lights. The sedan bears the trademark Hyundai design language on it with flowing character lines on all body panels.

The sides get a u iq ur C- pillar garnish and 15 inch diamond cut alloys. The rear is distinctive with new design LED tail lights and fresh style rear bumper with chrome strip garnish and AURA badging bang in the center made of chrome.

The Hyundai Aura gets new range of engines powering it. The engine options include first in class 1.0L BS6 KAPPA Turbo GDI Petrol engine with 100PS of power and 175Nm of torque. The 2nd engine options is the 1.2L BS6 MPI Petrol engine with 83PS of power and 116Nm of torque. The Diesel option on the Aura is powered by the 1.2L BS6 ECOTORQ Diesel engine with 75PS of power and 194Nm of torque. The 1.2L Petrol and 1.2L Diesel engines come with 5 speed manual and AMT options while the 1.0L TGDI comes with the 5 speed manual transmission.

In terms of features the Hyundai Aura comes loaded with a long list of equipment on it. Features include wireless charging, driver rear view monitor, chrome outside door handles, leather wrapped gear knob, eco coating, emergency stop signal, air curtain in the rear bumper, 5.3 inch digital speedometer, 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system, smart phone conductivity, Arkamys sound system,  projector fog lamps etc.

The Hyundai Aura will compete against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki DZire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo, Toyota Etios, Ford Aspire in the Compact Sedan segment when launched in January 2020.
