Hyundai has unveiled it’s highly awaited and anticipated Mini SUV the Venue today. The Hyundai Venue was reveled to the select media in the middle of the Arabian ocean on a Luxury Cruise liner setting sail from Mumbai towards Goa. The Hyundai Venue becomes India’s first Connected SUV.
Incidentally the global preview of the Venue happens at the 2019 New York Auto Show at the same time. As per Hyundai the Venue was conceived and developed step by step to meet the needs of the Indian youth seeking future technology, space, comfort, safety and ergonomics. Hyundai says the Venue can be defined by solid presence, refreshing driving experience and leading edge seamless connectivity.
In terms of dimensions the Hyundai Venue stands at 3995mm in length, 1770mm in width and has a height of 1590mm with a wheelbase of 2500mm.
The Venue looks extremely trendy and modern at first glance. The design language is typical like Hyundai SUV’s. The basic silhouette reminds that of the elder brother the Creta and that is a very good thing. The front profile looks dominating with the signature Hyundai cascading grille in mesh finish, dual styled projector headlights with a ring type LED DRL like the Hyundai Kona looks extremely catchy. The side profile looks strong with the solid full flared flexed wheel arches and the strong character line. The rear styling is mainly dominated with the flushed tailgate and square LED tail lamps not forgetting the VENUE insignia placed boldly on the boot-lid. The over all fit and finish looks extremely good and the Venue feels Premium.
In terms of interiors the Hyundai venue comes with a spacious and well appointed cabin with loads of features on the equipment list. You get electric sunroof, wireless phone charging, air purifier, cruise control to name a few. New design trendy looking climate control with round dials, the large sized 8 inch touch screen system.
The Hyundai venue will come three engine options to choose from. Top of the line would be the All new 1.0L Kappa Turbo GDI Petrol engine with a class leading power output of 120ps and 171Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to an all new in-house developed 1st in class 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission and a manual transmission. The second petrol engine on the option list is the 1.2L unit with 83ps of power and 115Nm of torque mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The Diesel engine option on the Venue will be the 1.4L unit with 90Ps of power and 220Nm of power mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Hyundai says the 7-speed DCT transmission is highly efficient and has least torque transfer interruptions while shifts.
In terms of safety the Hyundai Venue comes loaded with 6 airbags, speed sensing auto door locks, ESC/ESP and VSM, Hill assist control, Brake assist, ISOFIX
The highlight of the dash is the 8 inch HD touchscreen infotainment system. You also get connected features which work in tandem from the app installed in your mobile from which you can Remotely control the vehicles engine start stop, set temperature for climate control, door lock u clock, horn and light control. The BlueLink infotainment system understands India English. The system also comes with live maps for navigation along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other intelligent connected features include Auto crash notification, SOS/ Emergency assist, roadside assist, panic notification, stolen vehicle tracking, stolen vehicle notification, stolen vehicle immobilizer, remote vehicle status, find my car, share my car, maintenance and car health report, driving info, push map to car, push map by call center, traffic info to. And a few.
