LIVE – BMW M340i xDrive launched in India at Rs.62.90 lakh

BMW has launched the M340i XDrive in India priced at ₹ 62.90 lakh (Ex-Showroom) and BMW will be selling it in limited numbers only. The BMW M340i becomes the 1st locally produced in India at their Chennai manufacturing facility.

The German carmaker had started accepting pre-bookings for the same last week at an amount of ₹ 1 lakh across its dealerships and online. Also the first 40 customers to book the car will go through a specially curated driver training experience at a popular racetrack in India.

The BMW M340i gets its power from the M-Performance 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine with an all-wheel drive setup. This special engine comes engineered by the company’s performance arm- BMW M. This engine makes 387 bhp of power and a belts out 500 Nm of peak torque.  This engine comes mated to a 8-speed steptronic automatic transmission. The M340i does a dash to 100kmph is just 4.4 seconds making it one of the fastest cars in its segment.

In terms of M engineered gadgetry the BMW M340i gets a new lift-related damper control and has the electronically controlled M Sport differential, Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers, M-specific chassis tuning, BMW xDrive all-wheel drive and the M Sport rear differential.

In terms of exteriors the new BMW M340i comes with a new design kidney grille with satin silver bezels, sharp and sleek laser headlights, the muscular bumper, M rear spoiler, 3-d style LED tail lamps, redesign front and rear bumpers. The M340i drives on 18-inch wheels which can be upgraded to 19-inchers that are optional. Compared to the regular 3 Series, the M340i sits lower by about 10 mm. The sharp lines and features can be seen on the rear section as well, which also features a set of wide LED taillights. The M340i also gets the M Sport exhaust with dual outlets.

In terms of interiors the BMW M340i gets everything that the 3-Series gets that includes the electric sunroof, 12.3-inch instrument panel, 10.25-inch touchscreen with all the connectivity features as standard, three-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, extended storage and an automatically dimming rear-view mirror among others, 8.8-inch Control Display along with the Connected Package Plus including Real-Time Traffic Information, Remote Services, Concierge Services and Apple CarPlay among others.
