Piaggio motors India today launched the New Aprilia Storm, a 125cc power-scooter at Rs.65,000 ex-showroom pan India.
The new Storm 125 uses the same 3 valve engine from the Aprilia SR125 and produces 9.52Bhp of power & 9.99Nm of torque. The Storm125 comes equipped with 12 inch mag wheels and Dual purpose spec fat tubeless tyres.
Overall, the storm and Aprilia SR 125 share all the same shape and design of body panels, but the Storm differentiates itself with bold racing graphics and the matte color finishing.
The storm series will be available in mat yellow-black and matte red-black colour options and a white variant is soon to be launched in the coming months, confirmed Piaggio officials.
The storm125 specifically looks targeted towards the youth of the country, the Gen Z and millennials.
Being a base level offering, the storm will be missing out on disc brakes and will come equipped with 150 mm front drum brake and 140 mm rear brake with CBS.
Mileage figures are expected to be similar to SR125 which is about 35-40 kmpl, and with the fuel tank of 6.5l, you can easily ride above 200 kilometers before you stop for fuel. It uses same analogue tachometer unit from the Aprilia SR125.
The Storm125 will be equipped with hydraulic telescopic forks on the front and hydraulic mono shock absorber on the rear, with a long seat to offer a comfortable ride even on longest of rides.
With this launch, Piaggio has expanded their offering in the power-scooter segment.
