The original Tallboy design car is back. Hyundai has launched the all new Santro in India just a short while back at Rs. 3.89 Lakh pan India.
he All New Hyundai Santro comes in at an introductory price of Rs 3.89 lakh to Rs 5.45 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi for the first 50,000 customers for manual transmission,Rs 5.18 lakh to Rs 5.46 lakh for (AMT) automated manual transmission variant, Rs 5.23 lakh to Rs 5.65 lakh for CNG version.
The Santro was the very 1st model introduced by India when Hyundai entered the country wayback in 1998. The all new Santro was codenamed as the AH2 during its development till finally it was rechristened as the Santro after a long naming campaign run by Hyundai.
Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been the brand ambassador for the Santro right since inception will continue to be its brand ambassador, he was present at its launch today.
Incidentally Hyundai has sold more than 1.32 Million Santros since it’s launch in 1998. The All new Santro takes this lineage ahead and now get larger in dimensions standing at 3610mm in Length, 1645mm in width, standing at 1560mm tall with a wheelbase of 2400mm.
The car looks extremely well proportionate from all angles with a large wide front grill adorning large fog lights, sloping bonnet with character lines. Sides get two sharp character lines on each of the doors. Wing mirrors come body colored with turn indicators, wheels come in 165/60 R14 sized TYRES on steel rims with wheel caps. The rear gets slightly bulged styled angular tail lights with a wide rear glass. Both bumpers come in dualtone.
On the inside the cabin comes in dualtone interiors, seats come with fixed headrests. Placement of the window buttons are on the center console behind the gear shifter. Touch screen infotainment system with applecarplay and android auto comes loaded on the Santro along with rear AC vents. Rear seats comes with extra bolstering for under thigh. ABS with EBD and Drivers side airbag standard on the All New Santro.
Powering the All New Santro is the 1.1L with 69ps at 5500rpm with 99NM of torque at 4500rpm with 20.3kmpl of fuel efficiency on the manual petrol. The CNG version comes with the same engine but tuned with 59PS of power and 84Nm of torque. There also is an AMT transmission version that uses a fully in-house engineered and developed AMT unit. The All New Santro becomes the very first model from Hyundai to come powered with an AMT transmission.
