LIVE – 2019 BMW X5 Launched in India at Rs. 72.90 Lakh

BMW has launched the 2019 X5 in India today with prices starting at Rs.72.90 Lakh Ex Showroom. This is the Fourth generation of the iconic BMW X5 and was code-named as G05 before going into final production. The X5 in its latest avatar gets more goodies to the feature and also grows in terms of overall size. The 2019 X5 looks extremely stylish and upmarket too easily the best looking X5 till date. The all-new BMW X5 is available in two diesel models – BMW X5 xDrive30d Sport and BMW X5 xDrive30d xLine. The petrol variant BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport will be available later in 2019. The BMW X5 was launched at the hands of Sachin Tendulkar in Mumbai.

In terms of exterior styling the 2019 BMW X5 comes with a larger sized family BMW Kidney grille offering much more dominating look to the face. The BMW Corona headlights come in all LED glow and are sleeker in design, tey also get the latest intelligent BMW Laser light with adaptive signature. The front bumper comes with all new designing and gets a larger air-dam with black surrounds. The tail lights too are now slim in design and feature 3D lighting signature on them. The 2019 BMW X5 drives on huge sized 21 inch wheels, this is the first time that the X5 gets such large sized wheels.

The 2019 BMW X5 is based on the new CLAR platform that it shares with the New 5-series. In terms of dimensions the BMW X5 now stands at 4,993mm in length (+36mm), 2,004mm in width (+66mm), 1,745mm in height (+19mm) which is a lot larger than the outgoing model. The wheelbase is also extended by 42mm which now measures at 2,975mm. The boot area stands at 645litres which can be further increased to a massive 1,860litres when needed with the rear seats folded down.

In terms of the cabin, the 2019 BMW X5 comes with the trademark BMW style designing with floating infotainment screen, horizontal center console while the instrument cluster now is an all digital unit known as the BMW Live Cockpit Professional display. The iDrive also gets a major update and now supports a customizable display with a touchscreen and also via gesture or voice commands. New design gear shifter also makes its debut on the 2019 X5. The second row seats come with electrically adjustable seats with forward tilting while the cabin is in full leather upholstery. Other features include multifunction seats, four-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, dynamic ambient lighting, passenger screens, wireless charging etc.

Powering the 2019 BMW X5 are a choice of two engines which include the xDrive30d with a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six diesel motor that makes 265bhp and 620Nm of torque. There also is the xDrive40i with 340bhp and 500Nm of peak torque. Both the engines get the eight-speed Steptronic transmission with xDrive all wheel drive as standard fitments.
