The 2017 Mercedes Benz GLA features new equipment and also gets a tweaked appearance. It competes with the BMW X1 and Audi Q3. Mercedes Benz India has launched the GLA facelift in India at Rs. 30.65 Lakhs ex-showroom. The rollout of GST has meant the car has been very competitively priced inspite of all the added equipment. On the outside, the 2017 Mercedes Benz GLA features a reworked front bumper and a tweaked rear end as well. The old bi xenon headlamps have been replaced by full LED units. There are new design alloy wheels in place and newly detailed LED taillights. Overall the design looks a lot more meaner than before.
On the insides, the overall dashboard has been carried over but you do get a new 8-inch infotainment display that supports connectivity options like Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The interior is now upholstered in more premium materials. Up to 4 trim options are now available for the customer to choose from. Subtle updates have also been added to the instrument cluster, along with chrome trims around the interior. A panoramic sunroof will be continued to be offered on this 2017 version.
The 2017 Mercedes Benz GLA continues to be powered by the 2.1-litre diesel engine in two states of tune (134 HP and 168 HP) and a 2.0-litre petrol engine with 180 HP on tap. Both engines are mated to the 7-speed automatic gearbox. The company had also launched an all wheel drive variant in India late last year. The suspension system has been updated too and adds a vital 30mm of ground clearance. The 2017 Mercedes Benz GLA gets new safety features like Active Brake Assist, 360-degree camera and an electric tailgate with motion detection sensors. Other safety features include Attention Assist, keyless entry, parking sensors etc.
