LIVE! 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLA45 and CLA45 launched in India
The 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLA45 and CLA45 are powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder motor that develops 381 PS and 475 Nm. The company has launched 12 new models this year, 7 of which come from its performance division, AMG.
Mercedes-Benz India has finally launched the new updated 2017 GLA45 AMG and the CLA45 AMG. The GLA has been priced at Rs. 77.85 lakhs while the CLA will retail at Rs. 75.20 lakhs. The company has also launched the Aero Edition variants of the two and has priced it at Rs. 77.69 lakhs for the CLA and Rs. 80.67 lakhs for the GLA45 AMG. The exteriors of the new 2017 model year car has been made to look even more aggressive and sporty than before.
For example, both the GLA45 AMG and CLA45 AMG Aero Editions get a new glossy black paint shade with yellow highlights all over the car that looks absolutely ravishing in person. Some of the other design cues on these new entry level AMGs are a black front grille, black alloy wheels, matte black raving stripe on the bonnet, black Mercedes-Benz logo while wearing a sporty AMG body kit. Alloy wheels are new 10-spoke design 18-inchers.
The part that you were most waiting for are the engine details and here we go. As mentioned above the 2.0-litre petrol engine is turbocharged to produce even more power at 381 PS and 475 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch SpeedShift AMG gearbox that can transfer power to all 4 wheels. The Dynamic Plus pack comes with 4 different drive modes that alter the driving characteristics of the car. 100 kmph comes up in just 4.4 seconds and can go to an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.
On the insides, the GLA45 AMG and the CLA45 AMG continue to come with all black interiors. The dashboard gets a contrasting red stitching that give a very sporty appeal. New features include a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display that now supports Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Some of the more highlights on the insides include the ARTICO leather seats and a large panoramic sunroof. The instrument cluster too is new with new look fonts and a scale divided into 30kmph. The company has also included a 360 degree camera system as part of the parking aids.
