The ad, which runs for a minute, can be seen showing the millennial buyers facing a range of issues; from their jobs in office, love, unplanned pregnancies. The Jeep Compass has been shown as the one which can help them circumnavigate anything and everything that the life throws at them.

The purpose of the ad is to ensure that the Jeep Compass is seen as a vehicle with a “global relevance” , as the ultimate new compact crossover, says Chief Marketing Officer Olivier Francois. The compact crossover has always been a segment which the Jeep brand has been struggling to get a hold onto.

“The all-new 2017 Jeep Compass delivers a truly global compact SUV,” says Mike Manley, Head of Jeep and Ram. “[The Compass] will be pivotal in reaching a broader audience of consumers. The addition of the all-new Jeep Compass to the brand’s SUV lineup continues to redefine and grow our stronger-than-ever Jeep portfolio.”

The Jeep Compass has been the company’s second smallest offering after Jeep Renegade. The Compass starts at around 20000 dollars in the US market. Expect the same to be priced around INR 16-18 lakhs when launched in India. The offering comes with a 2.4 liter inline four cylinder TigerShark engine. Performance wise, the compact SUV produces around 180 hp of power and 237 Nm of torque. A nine speed automatic takes care of the transmission duties. The Jeep Compass will carry an all wheel drive tech as a standard equipment.

When launched in India, the Jeep Compass might ditch the petrol option and may bring in the more commonly accepted oil burner for the SUV, the 2 L diesel. Jeep may also provide a manual transmission option for the Indian market.
