Jeep Compass 4×2 Diesel Automatic Launched at Rs. 20.49 Lakh

Jeep India has launched the Compass 4×2 Diesel variant  in India with a starting price of Rs 20. 49 lakh (ex-showroom) while the 2WD 9-speed Automatic is priced at Rs. 23.99 Lakh (ex showroom). The American car brand has also introduced the Black Shark Edition and a ‘S’ trim for the Jeep Compass 4×2 model. With this the Jeep Meridian Overland also gets some cosmetic updates.

In terms exteriors the Jeep Compass 2WD Black Shark comes with 18-inch blacked-out wheels, gloss black grille and black inserts on the lower half of the bumper.

In terms of interiors the Black Shark Compass 2WD gets an black cabin theme with red inserts in the steering wheel and dashboard, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging and connected car technology, electric seats, auto dimming mirrors, cooled seats etc.

Powering the 2024 Jeep Compass Black Shark 2WD SUV is the same tried and trusted 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine that makes 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque mated to the same nine-speed unit that is  available with the higher 4WD AT models. Jeep claims a 0-100kmph time of 9.8 seconds which makes it the fastest in its class. The claimed ARAI fuel efficiency for this the Compass 2WD diesel AT is 16.2kmpl.

With the Jeep Compass 4X2 diesel AT coming in at a much lower starting price they go up against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Alcazar, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Harrier, Tata Safari and the Mahindra XUV 700, Mahindra Scorpio N, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Toyota Hyryder. Jeep had discontinued the petrol engine models for the Compass earlier this year.
