Jaguar XE With New Mid-Level Variant Launched In India
Jaguar Land Rover India today launched its most affordable sports saloon, the MY2017 Jaguar XE in India with the introduction of a 3rd derivative called Prestige.
Jaguar XE was launched earlier this year only with petrol power in two states of tune. It was available in two variants namely Pure and Portfolio, with the latter being the more powerful version. Sadly the price difference between the two was quite big at nearly Rs. 7 lakhs. In an attempt to offer more to the customer, the company has now introduced a new mid level Prestige variant that has been priced at Rs. 43.69 lakhs ex-showroom, Mumbai. The Jaguar XE Prestige is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor in the lower state of tune developing 200 BHP. It gets added features like a sliding sunroof, Taurus leather seats with driver seat memory, interior mood lighting, 380 Watt Meridian sound system and rear view camera.
Rohit Suri, President, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd., said, “The All-New Jaguar XE is a distinctive combination of Jaguar’s cutting-edge innovation, technology and design. With the introduction of the Jaguar XE, we have entered a new market segment and made Jaguar more accessible to our customers while maintaining the premium and aspirational equity of the brand. This luxury sport saloon has been setting benchmarks in the industry since its launch and with the introduction of the Prestige derivative, we are confident of its continued popularity and success.”
The Jaguar XE is built on an all-Aluminium architecture which makes the chassis very rigid and lightweight. The design and the silhouette is inspired by bigger Jaguars which looks very sporty and familiar. There are the F-Type inspired taillights at the rear. Jaguar vehicles are available across India via 23 outlets and sell cars like the XE, XF, XJ and F-Type. The company is likely to launch the F-Pace SUV in India probably early next year and will add to the company’s India portfolio.
