Indian Motorcycle takes the First Step, Slashes prices across its range by upto Rs.3 Lakh
Indian Motorcycles today slashed prices across its iconic range of motorcycles by upto Rs.3Lakh, passing on the benefit to customers following Government’s decision to reduce customs on CBU bike imports.
The Government of India recently revised the customs duty on Import of CKD and CBU bikes, increasing duties on CKD units by 5% while decreasing duties on CBU units by 10%, though Indian is the only manufacturer passing down the benefits as of now.
The price cut will take place for all the existing models, starting from the Indian Scout Sixty right up to the Ultra luxurious Indian Road master, and new prices will be effective from 7th March.
Commenting on the import price cut and attractive prices of the Indian® line-up, Mr. Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director & Country Head, Polaris India Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are glad that the Government has rationalised the import duty structure to 50 per cent across the range for imported bikes. This price cut surely will open doors to a new segment of customers for Indian motorcycles. Other than Indian Motorcycles, The brands that are likely to benefit from the reduction in custom duties include Aprilia, BMW Motorrad, Yamaha, MV Agusta and Moto Guzzi. As these brands import their motorcycles via the Completely Built Unit(CBU) route, we can expect their products to be much more affordable.
