Hyundai has today officially announced that it will be launching its performance lineup the N Line in India this year. The first model on the Hyundai N Line would be the i20 as it is teased in the official video also released today by the Korean car maker. It may be recalled that the all new i20 was launched just last year in India and the trendy looking hot hatch has been rightly selected to launch the performance brand in India.
Commenting on the introduction of N Line, Mr. S S Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “As the country’s leading smart mobility solutions provider, Hyundai has been redefining the mobility landscape with products that take customer aspirations to new heights. Hyundai has set the stage for the next generation of smart mobility solutions in India with the introduction of revolutionary new product concepts. Hyundai N Line will further amplify these efforts with cars that evoke excitement and athleticism like never before. To induce fun driving experiences, Hyundai will develop N Line cars in India on three brand values:
Motorsport Inspired Styling Cues
Accessible for All
Everyday Excitement
The Hyundai N Line i20 could be powered by a 1.0-litre GDi 3-cylinder turbo petrol motor which pumps out 118 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque. On the N Line you will also get an 6-speed iMt or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Also expect sports suspension and body styling for the performance N Line i20.
Currently Skoda sells the Octavia VRS which is the performance version of its premium sedan. What we feel is that with Hyundai getting the N Line into India will only make performance cars more accessible and affordable to many, Hyundai is also one of the top brands in terms of after sales and service which again will be a huge plus for the N Line buyers here. Exciting times with Hyundai have gone to the next level,.
