Hyundai IONIC 5 EV Bookings Open on Dec 20th
Hyundai has announced the opening for the bookings of the Hyundai Ionic 5 from the 20th of December. The Ionic 5 will be the 2nd All Electric car model from Hyundai Motors for the Indian market.

The winner of the 2022 World Car of the Year Award uses an array of eco-friendly materials in the cabin showcasing Hyundai’s focus on building a sustainable future with the use of Bio Paint, Eco-Processed Leather, Eco-Friendly fabric and more. Among other unique features the Hyundai IONIQ 5 will feature a unique Vision Roof that comes with full glass panel without any centre partition thereby providing a greater sense of openness.
The ionic 5 also comes with Parametric Pixel LED headlamps design that is carried forward on R20 (D=512.8mm) Alloy Wheels that create a true sense of symmetry while enhancing overall aerodynamics.
On the insides the Ionic 5 comes with a unique magnetic dashboard and also a large drawer-type glovebox that enhances usability and convenience. The Ionic 5 also scores high in terms of sustainability, it uses Bio Paint on surfaces such as crash pad, switches, steering wheel and door panels that includes oil extractions from plants such as rape flowers and corn.
Eco-processed Leather used in Hyundai IONIQ 5’s interior is dyed using flaxseed oil, Headlining and carpet fabric includes bio components extracted from sugarcane and corn, Eco Friendly Fabric is created using up to 32 plastic bottles that are shredded into plastic chips. These chips are melted and spun into threads which makes for an inviting fabric that is used on the seatback and door armrest of Hyundai IONIQ 5, 100% Recyclable paperette from HDPE has the same lightness and texture with traditional paper.
The Ioniq 5 will be offered with two battery options – 58 kWh and 72.6 kWh, with a choice of either a single motor setup or a dual motor setup. The single motor setup will offer 167HP of power and 350Nm of torque. The top-spec model of the Ioniq 5 will be offered with a dual-motor setup and 72.6 kWh. This setup offers a power output of 298BHP and 605Nm of torque. This model is capable of going from 0 to 100 in just 5.2 seconds. The Ionic 5 can be charged both ways either with a 400-volt or an 800-volt charging with an expected range of upto 481 kms on a single charge.
