Honda reveals the 2018 Jazz / Fit hatchback

Honda Japan has released the pictures of the upcoming Jazz hatchback facelifted version. The refreshed version of Honda Jazz is expected to launch late next month. The Honda Jazz is sold as Honda Fit in some international markets.

The refreshed Honda Jazz / Honda Fit can be seen sporting some major changes in styling. The new Honda can be seen carrying the new front family look which was first seen on the new gen Civic which was launched internationally (not in India though) and the latest facelift of the Honda’s bread and butter, Honda City. A thick gloss strip joins the two LED headlights which now sport a newer design along with the front bumpers and front grille which too have been refreshed. The fog lamps too now sport LED units. The side profile is more or less carried forward unchanged barring a few sills here and there which could be specific to the different trims available. Although the picture revealed by Honda does not talk much about the car’s rear design, we expect the tail lamps to sport LED inserts and a refreshed rear bumper with extra detailing.

The interior of the car too has been tweaked slightly. The dashboard layout revealed is very similar to that of the current generation but now comes finished with a dual tone color scheme. The seats too get a dual tone finish and should come with good bolstering and support just like the current version. To increase the safety quotient of the facelifted hatchback, Honda is sure to add new features like pedestrian collision mitigation, collision mitigation braking, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist function.

The powertrains in the Japanese version should be the same as the ones currently offered and Honda might throw in a hybrid option too.

While the international facelift launch is not too far, the Indian launch should be still some time away as the current Jazz has been around for only a couple of years. When the new Jazz does reach the Indian shores, it should sport the same design as this facelift and carry interior updates similar to that of the Honda City facelift launched recently.

Honda will continue to offer the same 1.2 i-VTEC petrol and 1.5 i-DTEC diesel engines in the Indian market.
