Hond Civic Si Unveiled Just Before LA Auto Show

Honda unveiled its near final prototype of the Civic Si (Sport Injected) today just before the start of the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. Honda has radically changed the overall design on all the recent Civics launched (Civic Type R, NSX) and the Civic Si takes that further.

The body dimensions are similar to that of the Civic coupe and shares the front and rear bumper with the Civic hatch. The front bumper comes with a splitter and a neat looking wing spoiler on the rear. The biggest styling element on this car is the centrally mounted exhaust with hexagonal tip. Si badges on the front and rear add to the sporty element and make it distinctive to the other Civics. The car drives on 19-inch wheels with sporty multispoke black alloys.

On the inside the cabin of the Civic Si comes with lots of red color on it on the floor mats, seat stitching, instrument panels and the infotainment system. Seats get the exclusive Si stitched badging in red on them. The manual shifter is a ball shaped aluminum knob that matches with the aluminum pedals. You also get the sport mode activation button just next to the shifter which should get the Si into its real mode.

The Honda Civic Si comes powered with a 1.5-liter Turbocharged 4-cylinder i-Vtec engine. This is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The Civic Si comes loaded with goodies like limited-slip differential, special tuned suspension, active dampers and also direct adaptive steering. As per Honda this will be the fastest Si (Sports Injected) car from their stable ever. There were rumors of the Civic Si to come powered with an 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine but looks like the current trend is downsizing and Honda has done that too. Honda has not revealed official performance figures for the engine on this one. Honda Cars India if you are reading this, it’s the best time to get back the iconic Civic brand back into the market here.
