Ford Figo is currently under sale in Latin American countries by the name of Ford Ka. Now, new spy shots of the Latin American Ford Figo (Ford Ka) under heavy camouflage have surfaced online from Brazil. While the news of a Ford Ka facelift have been discussed on the internet, this is the first time spy images of the same have been shared on the web. The updated Ford Ka might possibly be revealed to the world by mid of 2018.
The surfaced pictures reveal a heavily camouflaged body of the 2018 Ford Ka at both front and the back indicating of a possible styling revision at both the ends of the hatchback. The front should carry in a new bumper with a different fog lamp enclosure. Ford might also throw in different shaped grilles than the current model for the sake of the facelift. At the rear, the tail lamp graphics appear to be new with different detailing than the current model. The test mules can also be seen wearing new design alloy wheels which should also be part of the cosmetic updates to the Ford.
The interiors too can be seen covered under heavy plastery giving a hint of a style and material revision inside as well. While the current model does not have a touchscreen infotainment system, this might be the right time for Ford to introduce one in its Ford Ka hatchback. This new system is likely to support latest version of Ford’s SYNC AppLink.
As per reports coming in from Brazil, the Ford Ka will continue with the 1.0 L and 1.5 L petrol engines. The latter is expected to gain a 6-speed automatic transmission. In India, the 2018 Ford Figo should continue with the current set of 1.2 L Ti-VCT petrol, 1.5 L Ti-VCT petrol, and 1.5 L TDCi diesel engines. However, there is a real possibility of a new three cylinder 1.5 L Dragon petrol engine replacing the current 1.5 L unit on the Figo twins and EcoSport.
These cosmetic changes will eventually trickle down to Ford Ka ‘Trail’ version and the Figo and Aspire twins in India eventually.
