Fiat and Esselunga gift 1520 Fiat 500s; create record!

What if you run a big chain of supermarkets in Italy and plan to run a promotion and honour the winners with something that has the best Italian flair? Gift a Fiat! Which Fiat? Fiat 500, of course! And anything more mark the event? Make a Guinness feat out of it!

This is what Esselunga, an Italian chain of super markets has done. In collaboration with Fiat, Esselunga has done a record breaking handover; 1495 Fiat 500 cars were handed over to the lucky winners of a competition run by Fiat and Italian supermarket chain Esselunga. A historic feat nevertheless which has been certified by a judge from Guinness Book of Records who has approved it for inclusion in the records book.

The winners who took delivery of the Fiat 500 “Esselunga” branded cars were from all over Italy. It was a wonderful sight to see 1520 Fiat 500 cars finished in Pastel White color lined up along the test track of the Mirafiori plant, which had seen many of the famous Fiat models being tested.

The Fiat 500 “Esselunga” model had been developed in association with the Fiat Design Centre and had been personalized specifically for the winners. Based out of the Lounge trim level, powered by a 1.2 litre 69 HP engine, the Fiat 500 “Esselunga” featured exclusive badges on the pillars, the numbered plaque in the interior, chrome mirror cabs and specific “color therapy” 14 inch wheels. The interiors carried a delightful ivory scheme and came fitted with lavish seven airbags, climate control, Uconnect 5” Radio LIVE infotainment system, AUX-IN and USB port, steering mounted controls and LED Daytime Running Lights.

Esselunga wanted to celebrate its 60th anniversary in business in a very special way and what better one than selecting to reward its loyal customers with one of the most outstanding and unique car, Fiat 500.
