Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India has announced the opening of pre-bookings for its Made in India Jeep Compass. We have already reviewed the Jeep Compass which you can read here.
Interested customers can log in to the company’s official website or visit the nearest Jeep showroom and book their copy for an advance of Rs.50000. The Jeep Compass is manufactured in Fiat’s facility in Ranjangoan near Pune and is available in three trim levels Sport, Longitude and Limited in both 4×2 and 4×4 options. Color options include Minimal Grey, Exotica Red, Hydro Blue, Vocal white and Hip Hop Black.
Announcing the opening of bookings, Kevin Flynn, President and Managing Director,FCA India said, “To harness the great demand for the Jeep Compass, we have executed a customer outreach across 21 cities at 26 shopping malls across India. We are already receiving overwhelming response to our new SUV. We have pulled out all stops to deliver the highest quality standard on the Jeep Compass and we are here to set a benchmark in the Indian SUV space. The Jeep Compass is being offered with two powertrain options – the 160+ HP, 250 Nm Multi-air petrol and the 170+ HP, 350 Nm, Diesel. The SUV will also come with options of the 6-speed manual transmission (Petrol and Diesel) and the 7-speed Dual Dry Clutch Technology Automatic or DDCT (Petrol).
List of features on the Jeep Compass SUV include the Jeep Active Drive and Selec-Terrain Traction Management System, Driveline Disconnect Technology (DDT), Electric Parking Brake (EPB) and Frequency Selective Damping (FSD).
Safety features include ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Dynamic Steering Torque, Hill Start Assist, Adaptive Brake Lights and Panic Brake Assist. The top of the line Jeep Compass Limited 4×4 will come equipped with six airbags and dual stage passenger airbags.
The Jeep Compass is the make or break model for FCA in India. With the Fiat brand failing and Jeep’s Wrangler out of reach for many, this made in India Jeep Compass should help FCA gain traction here, provided they price it extremely competitive.
