BMW Group India has posted a record growth of 25% for 2017 in India. BMW Group India that consists of BMW, MINI and Motorrad. BMW and Mini together have delivered 9800 cars in 2017, registering a growth of 25% as compared to 2016. BMW India sold 9379 cars in 2017, clocking a notable growth of 25% as compared to 2016 with 421 MINIs hitting the road in 2017, a growth of 17% as compared to 2016 for this brand of the BMW Group. BMW Motorrad its motorcycle wing has managed to sell 252 units in its first year of existence in India.

We are confident of continuing this momentum but our primary goal is to grow the size of the luxury car market in India. As per BMW India In 2017, the BMW sales growth was predominantly driven by the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment, particularly the BMW X1 (compact SAV) and the BMW X5 (premium SAV). The second half of 2017 also saw an unprecedented acceleration in sales with the launch of the all-new BMW 5 Series.
BMW locally produces the BMW 3 Series, the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, the BMW 5 Series, the BMW 7 Series, the BMW X1, the BMW X3 and the BMW X5. BMW Plant Chennai will start the local production of the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo in 2018. BMW sells the X6, the BMW Z4, the BMW M3 Sedan, the BMW M4 Coupe, the BMW M5 Sedan, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe, the BMW X5 M, the BMW X6 M and BMW i8 as Fully Built Units or CBUs in India.
