Bajaj V15 Enters Top 10 Best Selling Motorcycles List In April 2016
Bajaj Auto Limited’s newly launched bike the V15 has raced its way to reach the list of top selling bikes for April 2016 at the 10th position.
Bajaj recently launched a bike called the V15 which is made from the metal of India’s first aircraft carrier ‘INS Vikrant’. It was highly acclaimed and attracted Bollywood star Aamir Khan also to end up buying one. This bike has now made its way to the top 10 highest selling motorcycles list for the month of April 2016. The bike debuted at the 10th position and sold 24,057 units in the last month. The Bajaj V15 is powered by a 150cc single cylinder engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It claims a mileage of 70 kmpl and has a 13-litre fuel tank. It is built on a cradle type chassis and runs on 18-inch wheels with 90-section tyres at the front and 120-section tyres at the rear.
The top 10 best selling bikes list was dominated by Hero motorcycles. The Hero Splendor sold 2,24,238 units last month which is a 22 percent increase over April 2015. The Hero HF Deluxe, Hero Passion and Hero Glamour were next on the list with 1,16,567; 98,976 and 66,756 units sold respectively. Other than the V15, Bajaj also had two other bikes on this list namely the – Bajaj CT and Bajaj Pulsar. The CT came in at number 5 while the Pulsar stood at number 7 with 66,409 and 50,419 units sold in the month of April 2016.
Honda 2-wheelers too had two models on this list which were the Honda CB Shine and Honda Dream. The CB Shine has been one of the best selling bikes for the company in India and sold 52,751 units last month compared to the Honda Dream which saw a comeback on the list after nearly 5 months with 32,503 units sold. The bike at number nine was the macho Royal Enfield Classic 350 with 28,567 units sold at a growth of 71 percent from the corresponding month last year.
