Auto Expo ’18: Honda unveils X-Blade 160 and the Activa 5G
Honda Motors India today unveiled their upcoming launches for 2018, the Honda X-Blade and the Activa 5G at the Auto Expo held in Gurgaon.
X-BLADE 160
The X-Blade will be Honda’s latest offering in the premium 160cc segment. The Design and Looks are futuristic, with a LED headlight depicting a Transformers head, Dual Outlet Exhaust, Muscular Body panels, Unique split grabrails, Stylish Alloy Wheels and Hugger Fendor. Not just that, to offer premium riding experience, Honda has equipped the X-Blade with a Link type Gear-Shifter technology, which will make your ride more plush with no false neutrals.
With a wheelbase of 1,347mm, the X-Blade surely will be the Apex-killer in its segment. To aid cornering stability further, the X-Blade comes equipped with a wide 130 section tubeless tyres, Mono shock suspension on the Rear and telescopic forks on the Front. In terms of features, Honda has installed a digital instrument cluster which provides necessary information like gear indicator, service due reminder, odo meter, trip meter, fuel gauge.
ACTIVA 5G
Honda has upgraded their War Horse for 2018, yes the 110cc Activa 4G now gets replaced by the Activa 5G. The new 5G shares the same silhouette design from the 4G, with no major structural or design changes. Honda seems to have been conventional this time over, when it comes to scooters.
The new 5G now comes with a New Design of Headlight, LED headlamp with DRLs, LED tail-lamp, A digital-analogue instrument cluster, a mobile charging socket and a ‘Activa’ Monogram, which looks much better and premium than the conventional stickers.
We expected the introduction of a disk option in this segment too, though Honda wants to play it safe with the pricing and has equipped the 5G with dual drum brakes. The Activa is India’s largest selling scooter in terms on volume sales, and has ruled the Indian market since past decade.
