The next-gen Audi A8 and the A7 have made an appearance again with new spy shots emerging once more. Autogespot has posted some new spy shots of the much awaited luxury sedans after recently spotting the vehicles in South Africa.
These new spy shots suggest that the next-gen A8 and A7 will get full-width tail lights. The seamless design of the tail lights is quite reminiscent of the Audi Prologue concept. The next-gen A7 seems to have a much flatter back glass as compared to the current model. This makes the car sit lower and sportier than its original version. Its liftgate will mask an adaptive spoiler meant to emerge at high speeds, similar to its currently available model. The front end of both the cars was revealed in an image about a month ago.
The fourth-gen Audi A8 , also codenamed as the Audi D5 will be riding on the same platform as the second-gen Audi A7 MLB-Evo. This platform underpins almost all the new generation Audi models from the A4 to the Q7. The platform offers multiple benefits in the way of weight savings and alternative powertrain compliance. The company may offer the mew A7 with an assortment of petrol and diesel engines that have displacements ranging from 2.0 to 3.0 liters. The new A8, will most likely include a V8 and a W12 unit in its offered engine range in addition to a V6 unit. A plug-in hybrid variant is expected when it comes to both models. It is speculated the the A7 may even come with a hydrogen fuel-cell version.
The company has now confirmed that it will be revealing the 2018 Audi A8 in Barcelona, Spain at the Audi Summit on 11 July, 2017. The public debut will take place at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show about two months later. The A7 is expected to debut at the 2017 LA Auto Show in December.
