The Audi A5 Sportback, S5 Sportback and A5 Cabriolet completes what Audi India calls the A5 Brat Pack.
Audi India has launched the cool looking A5 range in India. This consists of the A5 Sportback and Cabriolet, and a performance oriented version of the A5, the S5 Sportback. The Audi A5 has been priced at Rs. 54.02 lakhs while the convertible will retail for Rs. 67.51 lakhs. The S5 on the other hand has been priced at Rs. 70.60 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, India). The company has certainly turned up the heat in the luxury segment by offering its new segment creating A5 range in India. The sedan will compete with the likes of the BMW 5-series, Volvo S90 and Jaguar XF.
The Audi A5 Sportback and Cabriolet are powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that develops 190 HP of max power and is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. It can go from a standstill to 100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds. The convertible variant gets an additional Quattro all wheel drive system as standard. The Audi S5 Sportback on the other hand is powered by a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine that develops 354 HP and is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission. It can go from 0-100 kmph in a mere 4.7 seconds and gets the assurance of the Quattro as standard.
The Audi A5 range also gets some features like LED headlights with dynamic turn indicators, panoramic sunroof, 3-zone climate control system, ambient lighting, MMI Touch infotainment system with MMI Navigation Plus, Audi Virtual Cockpit, 10 GB internal storage for the stereo, while features like Audi Smartphone Interface and a Bang & Olufsen surround sound system are optional extras. The one-touch roof opening function on the A5 Cabriolet is fully automatic. The soft top takes about 15 seconds to fully open and can be done at speeds up to 50 kmph. Some safety features on the Audi A5 range include ABS, EBD, traction control, up to 8 airbags, TPMS and Parking Aid Plus with rear view camera.
