New Maserati Grecale SUV makes global debut
Maserati has unveiled its latest model of its SUV line-up the Grecale globally. This SUV from the iconic brand will below positioned below the Levante. The Grecale will come powered with the internal combustion engine along with a hybrid, and also becomes the first fully electric vehicle from the car maker.
The Maserati Grecale is being offered in three versions namely the GT, Modena, and the sports version the Trofeo. The GT version is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder motor that hits out 299bhp and 450Nm. While the Modena gets the same powertrain with mild-hybrid technology that is tuned to produce 330bhp and 450Nm of peak torque. The top of the line performance oriented Trofeo gets its power from the 3.0-litre V6 that generates 530bhp and 620Nm of torque. The Trofeo can do 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds with a top speed that of 285 km/h.
In terms of exteriors the Maserati Grecale comes with the family look sporting the signature iconic Maserati front grille with vertical slats. At the rear you have the unique designed boomerang-shaped tail lamps that mates with a horizontal chrome stripe. Its dimensions are a major factor: in the GT version, Grecale is 4,846 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,901 mm, a height of 1,670 mm, a width of 2,163 mm (including wing mirrors), with a rear wheel track of 1,948 mm (and even greater in the Trofeo).
The Grecale also comes with 100% Maserati Vehicle Dynamic Control Module (VDCM) system and the 360° control it offers over the car with DRIVE MODES: COMFORT, GT, SPORT, CORSA (Trofeo only) and OFF-ROAD.
On the interiors the cockpit of the Grecale comes with four display screens – a huge 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a similar size infotainment system, an 8.8-inch for the climate control system, and also a classy designed digital clock. The in-car experience is managed from the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) Multimedia system, from the state-of-the-art infotainment and from Maserati Connect. The in-car sound is taken care by the Sonus faber 3D sound system. The Sonus faber system – as standard at Premium level – includes 14 speakers, or 21 speakers on demand at High Premium level.
As mentioned the Maserati Grecale will also be available with a pure electric powertrain that is named as the ‘Folgore’ but will be seen only in 2023. The All Electric Grecale Folgore will be powered with a 105kWh battery pack and will hits out 800Nm. The engineers at the Maserati Innovation Lab in Modena have worked directly with Dardust to design the in-car sound. A joint effort that has taken shape in a transfer between technology and sound design, to customize the “chimes” – the sound alerts received by the user as part of the extraordinary driving experience aboard Grecale.
