LIVE – Honda launches the 2020 City with prices starting at a very tempting Rs. 10.90 Lakh

Honda Cars India have launched the latest generation of their best selling sedan model the City with prices starting at Rs. 10.90 Lakh. The City is easily the strongest and most well known model for Honda in India all this while right from the time it was launched 20 years back. This the latest 5th Generation of the City is available in three trims with the V, VX and ZX across the Petrol and Diesel engine options.

The City now gets longer, wider and lower in height, giving that authentic sporty stance to the sedan. The face gets dominated by the huge thick chrome Honda Wing face grille, like that on the New Civic, CR-V and the Accord, taking nearly 80% of the width of the car. The Executive Sedan now stands at 4,549mm in length, while the older City was 4,440mm in length; 1,748mm wide, while the older one stood at 1,695mm in width. The City now has an overall height of 1,489mm against 1,495mm of the outgoing model, making it lower, while the overall wheelbase remains same as that of 2,600mm.

The standard features across the lineup include 5-years subscription for Honda Connect, Alexa remote capability, 4- airbags, VSA and traction control, Emergency stop, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitor, multi angle rear camera, rear park sensors, tilt and telescopic steering, 3-eye projector headlight, Z-style LED tail lamp, integrated DRL, R15 alloys, 8-inch touch screen system, Paddle-shifters(CVT), remote engine start (CVT), cruise control, button start, touch sensor smart entry.

The top end fully loaded Honda City ZX trim gets a few more features over the V and VX which include – Lane watch camera, Full LED 9-array projector headlamps, L shape LED Turn lights with guide, LED front fog lamps, leather upholstery, exclusive seat design, all power auto up/down windows, auto close open sun roof, keyless remote operation, auto fold wing mirrors wit welcome function.

The Honda City with this update easily becomes the best looking and feature loaded sedan in its class with its nearest competition the Hyundai Verna which also launched recently. The City also competes with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid in its class.
