2018 Honda Amaze Sales crosses the 50,000 mark

Honda Cars India Ltd , today announced that its All-New Amaze has crossed 50,000 sales mark in just 5 months since its launch in mid May 2018. The All New Amaze has been a hugely successful launch of 2018 and is currently contributing to 50% of total HCIL sales during April – Sept 2018. This is fastest 50,000 sales recorded by any new model launched by HCIL in India.

The 2018 Honda Amaze is manufactured at Honda Cars Indias Tapukara plant at Rajasthan and incidently India become the very first country to manufacture and launch the All New Amaze. This is the 2nd generation of the sub compact sedan from Honda the Amaze. This was the very first car model which Honda offered a Diesel engine option when it was launched in 2013. The 2018 Honda Amaze competes with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo, Tata Zest etc in the sub compact sedan segment.

In terms of features the All New Amaze comes with front dual airbags, rear parking sensors with camera, Digipad 2.o infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, cruise control, paddle shifters (petrol Automatic), ABS with EBD, ISOFIX seats, push button start stop, keyless entry, voice command features, to name a few of safety and comfort features.

The All-new Amaze comes with the tried and tested 1.2L i-VTEC Petrol engine with an output of 90PS @ 6000rpm and torque output of 110Nm @ 4800rpm mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed automatic CVT (continuous variable transmission). Diesel Amaze comes powered with the 1.5L i-DTEC engine with power output of 100PS @ 3600rpm and 200Nm of torque @1750rpm with the manual transmission and 80PS @3600rpm and 160Nm of torque @1750rpm with the CVT transmission.

The All New Amaze will be available 4 trims each for Petrol and Diesel and 2 trims each for CVT transmission in Petrol and Diesel namely VX, V, S, E and V CVT, S CVT respectively. The All New Amaze has attracted more than 20% first time buyers, indicating an increasing aspiration trend among the first time buyers to opt for premium sedans. The car has been well received across markets with 40% sales from Tier 1 cities and 30% each from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

The response to the car with 50,000 sales in 5 months is overwhelming. The advanced CVT technology has found very strong acceptance among customers with 30% of Amaze customers opting for automatic variants in petrol and diesel.”
