LIVE – 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Launched with Prices Starting at Rs. 8.19 Lakh
Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2018 Ciaz sedan in India with prices starting at Rs. 8.19 Lakh ex showroom Delhi. The updated Ciaz comes with a host of features added to it and the biggest being the inclusion of the brand new K15 1.5L Petrol engine variant that comes with the acclaimed Smart Hybrid Technology.
Maruti Suzuki had launched the Ciaz sedan in 2014 and todays launch is one of the biggest facelift that the premium sedan from the Japanese car maker has got. Since its launch the Ciaz has sold around 2,20000 units making it a very strong performer in its segment.
The all new K15 1.5 Litre Petrol engine replaces the outgoing 1.4-litre petrol while the 1.3-litre diesel continues to do its duty on the oil burner version. The 2018 Ciaz comes in Petrol Manual and Automatic versions while the Diesel version comes with Manual transmission option. The Petrol Manual prices start at Rs. 8.19 lakh up to Rs. 9.97 lakh. The Diesel variant comes in at Rs. 9.19 and goes up to Rs. 10.97 lakh spread across 4 trims, Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The Petrol Automatic comes in at Rs. 9.80 and ends at Rs. 10.97 lakh and will be available in the Delta, Zeta and Alpha trims.
Changes on the 2018 Ciaz include a new grill, chrome garnish, LED Projector headlamps with DRL and LED tail lamps, new design front and rear bumpers with chrome garnish and 16 inch alloys on the fully loaded trims.
On the inside the added features include, standard dual airbags, standard ABS, Standard EBD, ISOFIX child seat restraint system, Brich bronze blonde grain finish accents, satin chrome highlights on door and dash, New 4.2 inch MID Colour display, eco illumination in speedo console.
The New K15 1.5 Litre Petrol engine makes 105PS of power at 6000rpm and hits out 138Nm of peak torque resulting in higher fuel efficiency and enhanced performance over the older engine. You also get Next Generation Smart Hybrid System with idle start stop, torque assist function and brake regeneration on the petrol version. The Diesel engine remains the same 1.3 Litre DDiS with Smart Hybrid technology. The Petrol version delivers a claimed 21.56kmpl while the Diesel version delivers a class leading 28.09kmpl.
